A memoir of my downtime during the past few months, so I never forget these seemingly inconsequential details of my life.

Dear wonderful reader,
I hope you’re having an excellent start to the month. February marked the end of my sabbatical period, which has been an eye-opening experience. The biggest thing I realised after having the time to get outside and do exercise first thing every day is how much these habits improve my life.
And then I started a new job at the same time as completing an intensive study program on the weekends, and March, April and May have disappeared in a blur. As such, the below roundup includes a collection of things I’ve enjoyed over the last three months.
📚 The Rosie Project Series by Graeme Simsion
In the space of two weeks, I sped through the three books in the Rosie Project series, enjoying the adventures the characters had and the thought-provoking discussions. Thank goodness my library had all three audiobooks available to borrow as I needed them! I would highly enjoy this fun and entertaining series.
📚 Midnight Gate by S. K. Staper
My wonderful book club friend, Sanja, launched her first book back in February, and I had the pleasure of attending her book launch. While I haven’t read much fantasy since Sarah J Maas’ last novel, this has broken the spell. Filled with magic, enemies to lovers and a strong female main character, I’m excited to read the next book in the series.
📺 Lost in Space (TV Show)
Watching this TV series for the second time was both comforting and thrilling at the same time. It’s about a family that…you guessed it…is lost in space, situated in a future version of Earth that is falling apart.
With the aim of resettling on a new planet that will give the human race a second chance, the Robinsons quickly realise that humans bring all of their strengths and weaknesses with them. It’s wholesome, gripping and thought-provoking, and I’d highly recommend checking it out on Netflix.
📺 Sweet Magnolias (TV Show)
After catching up with Virgin River (another wonderfully wholesome show), I discovered the latest season of Sweet Magnolias had come out. It’s fluffy and wholesome in all the best ways. Ransom Canyon is another recommendation in the same genre.
🎧 Podcast Recommendation
I am an avid listener to Diabolical Lies for conversations that inform, challenge and entertain. Here’s my latest favourites ⬇️
